Winter Night In

There's nothing like a good night out, but sometimes this winter weather isn't the best for going out. Personally, I love the winter and all that comes with it, but I must admit that these weather conditions sometimes make it hard to enjoy a night out. It's no fun getting all dressed up to go out, just to cover it up with heavy layers to trek through inches of snow and stay warm. But just because I can't go out, doesn't mean that I can't have a good time.

Mostly, because I've been far to lazy to try anything dramatic, and I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect everyday look to go to on those days where I have very little time to get ready.

I'm in love with all things winter fashion related; the warm sweaters, the chunky boots, everything! So, it's usually not hard for me to pick my outfits, I just pick a few items from my go-to winter wardrobe and I'm ready to walk out the door.

During my first winter with curly hair, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't know that during the colder months of the year, hair suffers the most. The harsh elements can be very drying and cause some serious damage to our precious locks.  So, it is extremely important to protect our strands during the winter season. Today I'm sharing some tips that really helped last winter, and that are still working for me this winter.

Winter Skincare Routine for Combo Skin

As a girl with combination/oily skin I can usually expect to be a bit of an oily mess during the warmer months. But during the winter I never know just what my skin is going to do or when. Some days my forehead is super greasy but my nose is extremely dry. Other days, it's like my entire face hasn't seen moisturizer in days. So, I've been working to find a routine that gives me enough moisture to combat the dryness but doesn't leave me looking oily, and I think I've figured it out! My skin behaves so well whenever I use this routine.

Now that it's starting to feel like winter, I can finally wear some of my favorite winter pieces without getting funny looks or overheating. During this time of year I always find myself reaching for the same things when looking for something to wear. They're timeless winter pieces that will (hopefully) never go out of style. And even if they do, I'll probably keep wearing them because they're just great go-to pieces.
