Winter Night In

There's nothing like a good night out, but sometimes this winter weather isn't the best for going out. Personally, I love the winter and all that comes with it, but I must admit that these weather conditions sometimes make it hard to enjoy a night out. It's no fun getting all dressed up to go out, just to cover it up with heavy layers to trek through inches of snow and stay warm. But just because I can't go out, doesn't mean that I can't have a good time.

Today, I'm sharing some fun things to do for a winter night in. So, whether you're chilling by yourself or hanging with friends; if you're snowed in or all your favorite spots are closed, this list of activities should keep you entertained while you're stuck inside.

1. THEMED MOVIE NIGHT - Everyone loves movies! Well, almost everyone. So, whether you're by yourself or with friends, pick a theme and then list a bunch of movies that follow that theme. They can be movies you've already seen, some you want to see, or even some you've never even heard of. I'm a huge fan of 80s movies and movie musicals and I've had movie nights surrounding these themes before, so here's two ideas to start with:
  • 80s THEME - Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Say Anything, Heathers, Sixteen Candles
  • MOVIE MUSICALS - Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Dreamgirls, Grease, The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd, The Wiz
2. SPA NIGHT - Since you can't go out, take this time stuck inside to pamper yourself. Turn on a calming playlist and light some candles. I recommend something lavender scented for a relaxing aroma. It's not a spa night without a bubble bath, so pick your most relaxing soap and fill the tub up, or drop in your favorite bath bomb. Before you get in, apply your favorite face mask, let it sit and work it's magic while you enjoy your bath. After your bath, treat yourself to a mani/pedi. Give your nails a nice soak, trim, and buff, and then apply your favorite nail polish. Once you're done with your nails you can grab a hot cup of tea, something relaxing like camomile tea, and settle down on the couch and enjoy a movie on Netflix.

3. READ-A-THON - Take this time in to catch up on your reading, or maybe re-read your favorite book(s). Find a cozy spot; your bed, the couch, where ever, and see how many books you can knock out in one night. Make sure you grab some snacks in case you get hungry and don't want to interrupt your reading.

4. GAME NIGHT - This one is a classic. Whether it's card games, board games, or video games, almost everyone has taken part in some sort of game night. I'm not much of a competitive person, so really intense games aren't my thing. But I'm always down for a good game of Cards Against Humanity! Although, whoever has the most cards at the end of the game is declared the winner, it's really not about trying to win, but trying to be funny.

How would you spend a night in?
